It's official: The bird is goofy. She likes to hang upside down in her cage and will often swing back and forth and hit the cage door with her beak. She's doing this as I write about it and is talking to herself saying, "Oops!" and "No--get down!"
Yes, I bathe her in the kitchen sink. I use only water and don't use a blow dryer as they can have Teflon as part of the heating element, which is toxic to her. I wrap her in a towel until most of the water has dripped off.
Thanks Charleen. Too bad I don't live in your area. I could put Sammie in her carrier and she could visit the residents of the nursing home. That would be so much fun! Of course, Sammie would just stare at all of them and refuse to talk! I might take her to a support group sometime.
