She loves her carrier!

I've been taking Sammie for walks in her new carrier. She starts saying, "No!" and "Hi Bird" the minute we walk out of the loft. The elevator seems to fascinate her and she stares at the ceiling.

Some of the workmen and residents look at her strange as we walk by. Maybe they think it's a fake bird or something.

She seems to enjoy our walks and talks to me and her pupils dilate as she takes in the new sights (this action means she's excited and enjoying it). I'm sure the fresh air is good for her.

Only problem: When I return to the flat and try to get her to come out of the carrier, she refuses. She'll even try to bite me when I put my hand in the carrier. Last time we went walking, she stayed in the carrier for over two hours. Strange bird.

Hey, variety is the spice of life! It's something new and I like it. I mean, how long can you hang out on a perch or sit in your cage?

Goofy Bird

It's official: The bird is goofy. She likes to hang upside down in her cage and will often swing back and forth and hit the cage door with her beak. She's doing this as I write about it and is talking to herself saying, "Oops!" and "No--get down!"
